Project Nhung

Project Nhung

You know what’s crazy, dearest friends? A crazy friend (aka Delores) thought it would be fun to come up w/, without my knowledge, “Project Nhung”, and you know what’s even crazier? YOU are just as crazy for partaking in such a terrible scheme!! And I love you so!! I just can’t believe how extraordinarily CRAZY AMAZING you all have been in brightening this month w/ so many thoughtful gifts, beautiful cards, loving words, delicious treats, fun zooms, big hugs, and so much more! I am stronger everyday because of you. I think I need another 50yrs to show each one of you how GRATEFUL I am for YOU! Thank YOU so very much for being on this journey with me. I wish you and yours a most beautiful Christmas and the happiest New Year!

ps This poem — Footprints in the Sand — is extra poignant to me now, and my eyes welled w/ tears reading this on one of the cards, as it is YOU and your prayers that is carrying me through my darkest, weakest moments… (A sampling of pics of some of YOU (still have to capture more!). Thank you for being by my side.)

Footprints in the Sand

“One night I dreamed I was walking

along the beach with the Lord.

Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.

In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.

Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,

other times there were one set of footprints.

This bothered me because I noticed that

during the low periods of my life, when I was

suffering from anguish, sorrow or defeat,

I could see only one set of footprints.

So I said to the Lord,”You promised me

Lord, that if I followed you,

you would walk with me always.

But I have noticed that during the most trying periods

of my life there have only been

one set of footprints in the sand.

Why, when I needed you most,

you have not been there for me?”

The Lord replied,

“The times when you have

seen only one set of footprints,

is when I carried you.”

Green Papayas – Best Book!

How amazing to learn that ‘Green Papayas’, illustrated by the lovely Gillian Newland, was selected as one of the best books for kids in 2023 not only by the Canadian Children Book Centre (*starred too), but also Quill & Quire.
